Meet Dr. Basora-Rovira


Dr. Elisa Basora-Rovira is a board-certified Pediatric Pulmonologist and Sleep Medicine Specialist whose clinical work centers on caring for children with complex respiratory, neuromuscular, and sleep-related disorders. She is known for her comprehensive, family-centered approach and her ability to integrate pulmonary, sleep, and neuromuscular care for every patient.
Dr. Basora-Rovira completed her Pediatric residency at the University of Puerto Rico, followed by fellowships in Pediatric Pulmonology at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital and Sleep Medicine at UT Southwestern/Children’s Health. She has served as an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine at UT Southwestern, where she worked hand to hand with Dr. Diana Castro caring for patients with neuromuscular disorders.
Her clinical expertise includes chronic respiratory failure, noninvasive ventilation, airway clearance optimization, sleep-disordered breathing, parasomnias, and the longitudinal care of children with neuromuscular conditions. Dr. Basora-Rovira is committed to partnering with families, empowering them with clear education, and ensuring that every child receives accessible, high-quality, compassionate care.
Dr. Basora-Rovira grew up in Puerto Rico in a family of seven children. She enjoys spending time with family, cooking and traveling.
